Hi guys,
I've recently tried out the Tesla VR-Nitro and Mike was playing Neil Zaza songs on the computer, to our surprise,
VR-nitro - was able to give off the sound similar to Neil Zaza, who uses a Seymour Duncan 59s and Custom custom....
So if you want that slightly vintage yet strong and treblish tone, VR-Nitro is for you... Its pretty powerful too..
Tesla Plasma 2s - have alot of mids and a strong growl to it, superb for metal and heavy rock.. not my type since i can't use it to my advantage in church, but it would do great for it to be put into a lespaul!
Tesla Plasma 3s - have less mids, but sound crystal clear and has power to punch thru any sound wall you might have.. also another heavy pickup, this packs the punch to go from sparking cleans to heavy crunch... Personally verified by my friend and i, its cleaner den Seymour duncan Jazz and JB, and also more defined den Dimarzios.. doesn't muddy up at all when u crank up the gain...
Tesla Plasma 1 single coil - i have this mid pup on my S470, and its twangy, clear, growls slightly and having a good OD sound... definately one of my choices for a single coil... a modern sound is what i like...
Tesla VR Extreme - Talk about POWER! it blasts away all other pickups i've heard... super defination, heavy crunching and powerloaded solos... Its ceramic pickups.. what did you expect? However, the thing lacking is the Alnico type of tibre that is in the sound.. most metal players don't need that characteristic either... makes the sound easier to eq anyway...
If you want clarity and power, Extreme pickups are yours...
Tesla Vibration Damper - stops the vibration in the string portions thats above your guitar nut. Tried and proven by me, and other guitarists that it does eliminates the higher frequency on guitars that is generated when the strings are being played. Less noise, more clear sound, recommended for Strats... Lespauls might also be able to use it.. However, Floyd Roses CANNOT use it...
Thats all for now folks.. got any questions juz ask away! |

| For the Dampers it is damn worth da money. It tightens up my sound and makes my tone even clearer. Floyd rose won't need it as it is locked from both end the bridge and nut so no vibrations need to be dampen there. Just hope Tesla makes longer dampers in time to come so can put in btw the bridge and tailpiece of my SG. |

hey so which pickups should i fit into a lp custom if i wanna get a warm sound?
i understand (a tad too late) that the lp custom is made more for metal and so the sound isn't as warm as the lp standard, which is what i prefer more.. and i am thinking of replacing the pickups to make it sound warmer and all. and i've decided to try out tesla pickups..but i have no idea what to go for. i'm thinking of getting the VRII though..will it do? |

Choosing VR II sets u on da rite path 4 a warm tone. I doubt LP Custom is meant more 4 metal. You can also try the VR-60Classic or VR III. The former bein a varation of VRII w/o covers (as i was told frm Mike)
Gd luck |

I've had the Tesla Plasma set installed on my Highway 1 Strat and never looked back since. I actually (and stupidly) wanted to replace my stock pups with Tex-Mex pups I got from another guy...Mike convinced me not to and recommended this to me. Boy, I'm glad he did! |

i've had great results thusfar with the TESLAs (VR Extreme/ Plasma II), these are really great pickups if you wish for tone which matters.
the Plasma II humbucker has great cleans & driven tones. i won't deem these pickups more suitable for specific guitars because they are great sounding in set neck as well as bolt-on makes. |
